  • I grew up looking at this view every year of my life until 2014. My grandpa sold his lake house that year. I remember thinking, after it sold, how weird it was that I’d never go there again. A place that felt so safe, that contained so many memories, would be inaccessible. In a way, I’d never want to visit that lake again. If I couldn’t be in the house, exactly as it always was, I wanted nothing to do with it. ▪️ Today I’m sharing these thoughts and how it relates to grief, as I’m experiencing it now, 8 months after losing him.   • Last year I explored recreating old paintings (or parts of the painting) with women of color. Life got the best of my time and I never revisited. I stumbled upon this outtake of florals and I lit up! I’m excited to dive back into this passion project this summer and would love any artwork/painting suggestions to recreate.
