Spend More Time Alone

Lately I’ve felt so incredibly connected. At all times. To everything. My twitter feed has felt especially negative recently and I’m tired of sitting with groups of people while we all zone out and stare at our iPhones. I’ve found that in order to be MORE present, I have to limit HOW I’m present.

I’ve been letting my phone die (intentionally) towards the end of the night. I took my Twitter application off my computer. Yesterday I took a nap for the first time in awhile. I’m scheduling more lunch and coffee dates with no other reason but to catch up. But then I’ll be intentional about when I work and aim at times of the day where I’m really inspired (hint hint: it’s always late…when emails stop coming in constantly).

I just found this quote by author Joan Didion and had to share.

“Do not whine…do not complain. Work harder. Spend more time alone.”

This is my new motto.

a CONSIDERATION

A weekly email where I share things that made me stop and consider: opinions, other articles on the internet, trying new experiences, and products you might like to buy.
